2026.02.26 Some Late Winter Updates

Dear Friends,

I can’t complain that we were spared the worst of the storm earlier this week. I spoke with friends on Long Island who told me about 85-90mph winds coming onshore of Montauk, and my niece and nephew in Boston mentioned feet of snow. I’m sure it was a spectacular show for both locations, but I’m not sorry we were spared the worst of it. At the risk of speaking heresy, I’m ready to bypass mud season and go straight to spring!

We have a few things coming up that I’d like to spotlight. First off, Chloe will be hosting her next Liner Notes program on Saturday, March 7th. The discussion topic: what is the first piece of music you sought and purchased for yourself. I attended the first session of this program earlier this month and enjoyed it immensely. It was a pleasure learning about the musical tastes of the attendees and about their own musical experiences. I highly recommend this.

Also, Becky Cooper, our Children’s Librarian, is researching resources to include in a family page for our website. We will be including local organizations that we partner with of course, but if you have any brilliant and perhaps little-known suggestions from online or otherwise, please either email Becky at bcooper@skidompha.org (please use Family Page Suggestion in the subject line) or tell her in person.

Be well,
Matthew
