Post Glacial Archaeology Talk and Tour
Saturday, August 22 | 1:00-3:00PM
L.C. Bates Museum of Natural History and Culture | Fairfield, ME
All Ages

Take the journey to one of Maine’s best kept secrets for a private tour of the grounds and museum. Learn about life in the frozen tundra after the retreat of the last ice age in the Maritime Peninsula (present day Maine and Canada). Activity and craft to follow the tour.

Built in the 1900’s, this stunning museum is a treasure trove of Maine history, archaeology, art, natural artifacts, and habitat dioramas. It is a “true cabinet of curiosities” and worth the drive. Make a day of it! Bring a picnic and enjoy their beautiful trails.

Registration for the tour is required. Contact Children’s Librarian, Becky at bcooper@skidompha.org.
