Join local artist Samantha Verrone for a natural dye workshop where we will explore dyeing textiles with food waste, creating unique colors with compost. Bring a white or light colored natural fiber textile (cotton, linen, hemp, bamboo, silk or wool shirt, tee, sweater, bandana, scarf, napkins, small table cloth). We will employ tying and binding techniques as well as color modifiers in order to make unique patterns and hues. This is an introductory class for teens and no prior experience with dyeing is required.
