Kids Programming

There’s always something fun to occupy children (and their grown-ups) at Skidompha. Check out our Calendar of Events to see what’s coming up, or come for one of our recurring programs below!

Story Time, Tuesdays 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Skidompha Public Library | Children’s Room

Join us for this weekly gathering! Best for children ages 6 and younger and their grownups, we will read, sing, learn, and move our bodies.

Minecraft Club, Wednesdays 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Skidompha Library | Porter Hall | Ages 9 – 12

Drop-in when you can. We will work collaboratively to plan and build in Creative/Peaceful mode. While we will be utilizing the split screen feature, children will likely be taking turns. While not actively playing, they will have options such as Legos, reading Minecraft books, and other fun Minecraft-themed activities.

Play & Chat, Thursdays 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Skidompha Public Library | Children’s Room | Infants, Toddlers, & The Grown-Ups

With the goals of playing and connecting, we invite you to stop by during this time with your little ones. There will be plenty of developmentally appropriate toys and activities for infants and toddlers to enjoy, and a relaxed environment for adults to chat and connect.

Homeschool Library Skills, Thursdays 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Skidompha Public Library | Children’s Room | For Kids & Teens
Registration Required

This free, interactive, and comprehensive program was developed to meet the Maine state library skills requirement for homeschool families. Families register individually for 5 sessions, with each session covering a different topic at the child’s developmental level. Returning students engage in a research project that reviews skills learned the previous year(s). To register, stop by the library or email Kristi.
