Hello, friends!
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching! This is one of my favorite holidays. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the unique relationships which form meaning and bring joy to our lives. These can take so many unexpected forms, from friendships to bonds with our animal companions, from causes about which we’re passionate to engagement with our community.
It probably comes as no surprise that one of the greatest passions we have at Skidompha is for books. It’s always fun to discuss titles and favorite genres with each other- there is such an array of diverse tastes. This variety of favorites has encouraged a lot of us to try books we might not otherwise have picked up. This Valentine’s Day (Wednesday, 2/14), we’ve put together a display which might tempt you with some new reading choices! Blind Date with a Book is essentially what it sounds like: we’ve gathered some titles from our shelves (some of which are among our favorites!), composed a brief description, and otherwise concealed the title. You could end up finding your literary soul-mate!
Even if you’re not looking for a new bookish fling, we hope you’ll stop in on Valentine’s Day for some treats. We’ll have some cookies, tea, and hot chocolate in the atrium in the afternoon as a way of saying thank-you for all the many ways you brighten all our days at Skidompha.
