6.23.22 | Hot Spots & Laptops Available for Borrowing

Dear Friends,

On top of all of the excitement over Summer Reading Programs and the latest publication of EPOCH, there’s more we are thrilled to share with you!

Starting July 1, we will have WiFi Hotspots and Laptops available for patrons to borrow. We have also been getting our self-checkout kiosk ready & you can now use it when things are busy at the desk.

Here are the details, and remember you can always ask us if you need more info:

Self-checkout Station

Connecting with you is one of our favorite parts of working at Skidompha, but we get that sometimes you are in a hurry, are feeling a little quiet, or are riding the momentum of the day and want to grab a book and run. If this describes you, we see you! If we’re taking our time talking with someone else at the desk, working on a particularly tricky reference question, or are away from the desk, we now have a solution.

  • Self-checkout is conveniently set up near the front circulation desk
  • You can check items in
  • You can check items out
  • You can check your account and see your holds, what you already have checked out, and due dates
  • You can renew items
  • It is easy to use, and a librarian is always available to help you

The Hotspots and Laptops are funded by an American Rescue Plan: Humanities Grants for Libraries grant. The American Rescue Plan: Humanities Grants for Libraries is an initiative of the American Library Association (ALA) made possible with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. We would also like to thank the Burns Family Foundation for the funding that made the purchase of our self-checkout station possible.

We hope you are as excited to check these new additions out as we are.

Be well,

Matthew Graff
